2002 suspension question?

Ok so I am really new to the Ford Expedition. But what exactly is used for front suspension on this thing? No coil springs in the front and no air shocks, just wondering how it works? I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of a small lift kit if it would add a little softening to the off road ride. Tanks for any info

usually a small lift is achieved by tightening the torsion bars.... but then the ride gets a littel harsher....
