Front end is making a whine in 2wd until about 70 km or so. About 40 mph. When I let off the gas it goes away. It does the same in 4wd- its also louder, but you still hear it when I let off the gas. I'm thinking front diff. Any experience with this problem? Slowly resolving the issues with the truck.

Try and replace the IWE solenoid... approx $30.. Common problem..
How bad of a job was this, cost wise?
I threw a complete used diff in it. $300. Best part it is non-posi. No more rubbing around corners!! Took me and my buddy 4 hrs and we changed the rear knuckle bushings same time. This was on a hoist tho. I didnt want to put any more money into that diff knowing the clutches were bad.
