I am new to this forum, but am a member of both the Ford truck enthusiasts and Ford explorer. So I thought maybe I should come here and see if I can find some assistance before I take my truck to the Ford dealer?
I recently filled my tank with gas and before I even left the gas station my truck started "rough idol" and it clears a bit when I accelerate, but it is not acting right. So first let me say my Expy has 162,000 mi., has a new fuel pump. complete fuel system cleaning and tank cleaning less than 5,000 mi. ago. complete tune-up was performed 25,000 mi ago, all performed at the Ford dealer.
I had assumed it was bad fuel, water maybe ( I only use 100% fuel, no ethanol) so I used a bottle of 108 octane and a can of sea-foam to try to dry up any moisture that was in the fuel. I burned half of the tank of fuel out and have since topped the tank off with 93 octane (100% fuel) and the problem is still with me. I really believe it was the fuel originally since, it started immediately after filling my tank, (my explorer 4.8L has had the same issue before) but, I am questioning that philosophy now. Has anyone here had this kind of issue before and if so, what are your recommendations?
Thanks in advance for your time reading my post and for your response!
