Hello all. This is my first post here in the group. Good to be here. I've been a member with Crownvic.net a few years now. Just last week I sold my '04 CV Interceptor to make room for a good 4x4 and something to pull my bike with. I think the bike + trailer, the weight would be around 1200-1400 lbs. total to pull.
That brings me here. I figured some may have an opinion or some insight on this EX I've just came across. The seller has it listed as a 2003 Ford Expedition XLT FX4, $2800.00, 223K miles on the original motor and trans, and he purchased it from an auction. Brand new tires, working heat/ac/radio, and it looks fairly clean on the inside. Haven't ran a Carfax on it yet, but he says he's been the second owner for less than a year. I'm scheduled to see it tomorrow at noon. He's says it in great running condition, and needs nothing to pass inspection?
Any thoughts on the FX4 trim? Would it be worth the risk considering the higher mileage motor? I've read that the FX4's may have come with the 3.73 option. Any truth to that?
