Well my victory was short lived.
Wife drove the Expedition for some errands yesterday with no issues.
She got home in the drive way and tried to leave and it would not come out of park again.
I walked her though the over-ride over the phone with no issues and she was able to get it out of park.

GRRRRRRRR!

Back to the drawing board.

Maybe make sure your front driveshaft isn’t bent. Slight tolerances under there and a small bend is all it takes.I’m sure you’d hear and feel that tho..

Your positive you retightened the new switch after lining up the hash marks? Maybe it didn’t seat all the way and has come out of adjustment with a couple shift actions?

Going to look at that when I get some time from work. Probably tomorrow and it is also supposed to be warmer tomorrow too, so a good day to check on all of that.
Will watch the videos again and make sure I did things the right way before I get under the car.
Stay tuned.

Sorry for the delay end of the year at work and all the customers want their parts built.

So, I took the Expedition out this past weekend driving all over the place Christmas shopping and no issues shifting out of park at any of the stops I made.
Going to do some more driving today with errands and see what happens.
I did take some photos of the position of the safety switch alignment marks. Not the best being under the car and trying to get a good angle to see the marks straight on.
Will load them up latter today.

No sweat bossman, just wanna help if I can, and learn if I can’t. Everything points to that position sensor. I know you say safety switch, everyone does, but I can’t do it, lol.. Looking forward to your pics and hopefully your success..

Well, I have been doing more driving and so far so good.

Here are the 2 photos of the safety switch, aka position sensor :)
SO I added the black marks onto the plastic to help me align the slot in the shaft for installation. You can also see I put a mark on the shaft as well to assist.
Once I did that it was pretty easy to install using the bolt to pull it onto the shaft.

The more close up pic shows the alignment with the marks.
I think they are right on. A bit hard to see and make sure when you are under the car and looking on an angle.

However, car is in the shop right now for a misfire on #5 cyl.
I have been having some misfire and coil issues. I have replaces 1, 5, and 8 already.
I hope this is not broken valve springs and the coil that was installed is just bad.
Waiting to hear.
