I'm painting a 2005 EB to get a monochrome black look i.e. all 2-tone mouldings are painted black.

The bumpers and fender mouldings have held up very well this past year but I have yet to do something with the running boards. I get conflicting information about the OEM running boards, so here's my questions:

The EB and Limited running boards appear to be exactly the same style. Is there only 1 running board for the EB and Limited? Are they paint-to-match? I believe the EB tan boards had their color injected into the moulding. Are the Limited ones simpl the EB painted? If so, how does one keep the paint from wearing off the traffic areas? Is there a separate step plastic in black that goes on top of the running board? From the pictures I've seen of Limiteds, it appears there is a dull finish on the stepping area and gloss painted finish at the ends.

Any help much appreciated!

The running boards on my Limited have a rubber step on top. The rest of it is painted to match the finish of the truck

Thanks for the reply. Obviously there are a few more options for running boards than what appear to be listed as replacement parts (yours don't happen to have lights in them, do they?).

I ended up going with a set just like those in the OEM Accessories catalog -- moulded black. I thought about painting the ends (as I thought that's what was done on the Limiteds) but I think I'll leave them -- it looks pretty good as-is.

Curious -- I've seen some black EBs with tan boards and some with black boards (all factory -- but maybe a dealer swap).
