Have an '05 5.4... Stock engine right now. Im thinking of adding a K&N filter and an exhaust (not sure on which one yet) and a chip. Any recrommendations? Thanks, Byron.

Do the Edge programer and get a exhaust shop to do your exhaust. I like my Magnaflow muffler but it depends on what sound you want.? AS for K&N, drop in or CAI? I have CAI its good (looks good too)but guys here like the gotts mod Not sure if you can do it on your year.

If you do that, post a video of how it sounds. I have been wondering since I put a 50 series on mine and I wouldn't mind a little more rumble.

not sure they make an edge for an 05. i know sct does. gotts mod seems to be a cheap way for more power. i believe mootoo has one on his expy. i have a k&n cai. exhaust or you doing a cat back or just the muffler? here is a link to some videos of how some exhausts sound on some expys.

gotts mod will work for you...i have k&n...found out about the gotts mod to late so im keeping it...i have flowmaster (not sure series) and love the sound and peformance...i use superchips cortex 1950...3 settings...Gas Saver/87 performanc (love this one)/91 performance...must run 91 oct if using 91 performance setting

for 05 and 06 expys... powerhungryperformance makes a edge (gyphron) cs or cts that is basically a edge on steroids with custom tunes set to your liking... for exhaust the 40 series is the way to go... I got two of em..lol

I have the flowmaster 40 muffler ... I love it, its a l lil louder than the one in the vid. ill take a vid of mine tomm morning and as far ass the cai im not totally sold on one yet, i dont have a programmer/chip for my truck yet but ive been looking into a diablo+custom tune. for 05+ expy there is no real "snorkel" effect like in earlier years the intake is pretty much the same diameter all the way from the TB to the fender except at the bend.

When you folks say ( Custom Tune) Just what does that mean? Sorry,just wondering.

canned tunes are those on programmer from factory(sct,edge,etc) custom are just that, custom tunes. Someone creating programs for specifically what you want(towing, gas milage, power), for what you have(gears, Super charger,etc). Many places will build you one with out seeing vehicle, just tell them what you are looking for(http://www.5startuning.com/). While others will put your vehicle on a dyno and create tunes for your programmer.(http://www.pahorsepower.com/)
