I am trying to get some wiring info about replacing my factory amp and sub with a powered sub. I would like to run as least amount of new wires as i can. I ran a 8 GA wire to the battery and a ground wire to the frame. Now when i pull off the amp harness, i have 6 wires to the amp. 12v hot all the time a 6 V wire 2 @ 4 v and 2 @ 0 V. I cannot find a wiring diagram anywhere. I am guessing the 6 v wire is the remote amp turn on and the two 4 v are the left and right + signals one of the 0 v a neg signal shared and one of the 0 v is a the ground?
I am pretty sure the 6 v remote wont turn my amp on. So i might have to run a new switch wire. Can i use the signal wires from this?

Thanks in advance for any input.

welcome to the site...can u post pics of ur powered sub? I would suggest running wires dedicated for the sub and call it a day...ur going to need 12v which can do from battery then remote switch to fuse box...signal inverter for rca speaker input and done if needed

I purchased a Rockford forgate P300-12. I figured I would have to run a switch wire, but was hoping to grab the signal wires from the input of the factory amp. The factory amp is 5w4t-18c808-ab

ok, if no one can give me the wire info, can you please tell me, is it safe to take the 4v wire and 0v wire and hook it up to a crap speaker and see if that is a signal wire?

Signal...yes...not sure bout the voltage but I tapped into the sub wires for my signal inverter for my rca when I had it wired that way...worked like a charm...I spliced into them but I did that 7-8 yrs ago...I have pics...I can post them later tonight or tomorrow
