I recently purchased a 2007 Limited with 100K miles. The front end sits lower than our previous 2007 XLT. I measured the Limited's front wheel opening and found it to be 33 1/2" high. I measured my neighbors Expedition, and his front wheel opening is 35 1/2" high. What could be causing my Limited to sag so much? Also, could anyone tell me if there are any major engine/drivetrain/suspension differences between the Limited model and other models?

I just measured my 17 and it's 35.5" at the top of the wheel well opening. It is possible somebody lowered yours or your springs are worn. Aside for minor changes they should be the same.

Anyone ever try the Rancho Quick Lift coil spring/shock assembly? I just want a little taller stance than factory. I thought if I needed to replace worn out coil springs, then the shocks are probably toast as well.

Did the previous owner install some kind of aftermarket suspension? Some people like their Expeditions to be lowered, such is the case with many of the older Expeditions. If that is the case, however, I don't know why the rear end wouldn't be lowered as well. Are there any heavier aftermarket parts on the front or in the engine, such as a heavier hood, grille, panels, etc.?

The vehicle is completely stick as far as I can tell. I imparted the rear fender height to my neighbors and found mine to be about 2" lower as well. I know for sure that I don't have the air ride rear suspension, so a mild lift won't pose any problems. I think I'll go with the Rancho Quick lift option.

Compare your neighbors tire height to your own. If his tires are taller than yours, your ride height (measured at the fender) will be lower. For instance, if his tire height is 2 inches more than your tire height, your ride height will be ~1 inch lower than his.

I checked this. Although my neighbors expedition has 17" wheels and my Limited has 18" wheels, the actual tire height is 31" on each vehicle

Are your sure it's not load leveling rear? They generally sit lower all around and my 07 El with load leveling rear sat at 33.5 up front

Absolutely sure about not being air ride suspension. Cycling through the system menu on the dash never brings up air suspension. The owners manual is very clear that this would be indicated if equipped, because the system would need to be disabled before changing a flat tire

Probably a bad coil spring/strut assembly. When I bought my last explorer i noticed it was sagging slightly and they had to replace both sides to bring the front end up to normal again.
