2010 with 82K miles. Getting "check 4x4" when shifting into 4 Low. 4 High is fine and works. No OBD codes. I'm thinking shift motor needs to be replaced. Thoughts?

Mine did this a time or two when I first got my Expy in December. After the 2nd or 3rd time it worked fine with no abnormal light..

I find if you dont use it for awhile they start to stick. I shift mine back and forth once a month keeps it moving good. Sounds like your motors stopping in between shift points maybe or could be the hubs sticking

Not sure what is used as the switch on a 2010 but my 2017 had that warning. It was the drive selector switch. The switch itself came apart in the back (in the dash). I could pull it out of the dash. It looked like it came unglued from the back plate.

If it shifts to 4x4 high it means the motor works. It could be the wires leading to motor, to my understanding they provide power to different positions

Also, consider cecking fuse in passenger compartment, the one for park assist and 4x4 mode I think. This is where the connection for electrical ping (I think the motor gets power for a couple of seconds to turn the shaft into desired position) to motor happens

You can also remove the motor, unplug take pliers and force turn the shaft,
