Hi All,

First post here, i found an expedition for sale but it has a blown engine so option is buy it as is from dealer or they will rebuild the engine and add 4K to the price. Suggestions on were i can search for a new/used engine? Located in Central Texas.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Rebuild and some warranty (right?)...that would be tough to beat.

I've got a dumb question? Why would a dealership try to move a vehicle with a blown engine? I think their are other things lurking! If I was a sales manager that took in a vehicle in trade for a new one, I would install another engine, and just up the price to cover any costs. Even a small Gypsy type car lot would never offer a vehicle with a dead motor! I smell a rat. This isn't my first rodeo, I've seen a lot of deceit, no I'd look for another expedition personally. You might be fighting with this dealer if something goes awry with this vehicle. Just my 2 cents from someone that's seen his share of weird transaction's.

I had my doubts as well, the expedition is in very good conditions exterior and interior Wednesday did a walk trough. I just talk to the dealer and he said they would offer only 1 Year 12,000 miles warranty on the engine.

This is why i was exploring other options get the vehicle as is 6K and invest on a new engine to avoid issues with the old vehicle.

Regards,
HH
