2016 Running board problems

Replaced passenger side running board motor and the connectors did not match up. Cut the connector off of the old motor and spliced onto the new motor - all colors matched up. Now, the running board operates the exact opposite. When the door closes, the running board folds out. When the door opens, the running board folds up. Any ideas?

Isn’t there a relearn procedure? I feel like I’ve read about that somewhere on here.

I have the same problem with boards running wrong way. I used the connector. Any ideas how to reverse them ???
