I have heard of people going to Rotella because of this. It is engineered to be a diesel oil. The additive packages (Not just ZDDP) are going to be different because of this. If I recall, the biggest difference is in the type and amount of detergents used.I found Rotella has a lot of ZDDP and is readily available here. Thanks!
Nor do you have a 3d Generation Expedition the owners of which are the audience for this section of the forum.I change my oil every 3000 and my oil reading says ....oh wait, my truck doesn’t have an oil life reader.

Rotella sounds heavy duty but it's not for gas engines like Greg said. Don't use it, you wouldn't use GM transmission oil in your Ford would you?...………….bad idea.
Could be but why would you?
Rotella may indeed be used in both gas and Diesel engines.

My point is that Rotella is formulated for diesels and why even bother with it when there are plenty of dependable big name gas engine oils out there? Why are we even talking about it?
I think you are dreaming about all those calculations it makesI think it only calculates time and miles of which I don't need either.
Many useless factors which I doubt anyway. I use my odometer to change oil in multiples of 5k and it's all anybody needs.![]()
Try the odometer method it's really simple and fool proof. I wish the former owner of this truck I bought a month ago had opted for the remote start instead of some of the other stuff he got. I am glad he got the bench seat in the second row though.

Again, no tappets or diesel engines in here, plus none of your 2000 Fords so just move on.
That's silly.Rotella sounds heavy duty but it's not for gas engines like Greg said. Don't use it, you wouldn't use GM transmission oil in your Ford would you?...………….bad idea.

But who cares? This is a gas engine forum and rotella is for diesels so why pay more to use it? Nobody knows what's really in those oils so why bother with it? Again their are plenty of gas engine oils out there so just move on. Oh! maybe 2 stroke oil, that might be better....…..lol. I heard they put a lot of good stuff in it...…..lol![]()
Still incorrect. Have you not looked at Blackstone lab report for a virgin sample of motor oil??Actually very little is known about oil except for the people that made it like many things that are a mixture in this world. Try the 2 stroke oil, I heard it's really good ………..lol. Don't be dumb, stick with gas engine oil.
