I was told here that Forscan and 2020s don't quite mix 100% yet. I have a strong desire to eliminate Auto/Stop, horn honk on key fob departure, bambi mode, and I guess whatever else might be available on a base XLT...

Or should I just buy the OBD port horn honk-key fob gone eliminator when it comes out for 2020 (my current biggest annoyance)?

I have a 2020.....and have forscan. I did double honk, door chime, and bambi. I purchased the autostopeliminator for that.....just requires you to get into the dash behind the button. Took all of 10 mins and works just as advertised. Still looking into other forscan stuff, but the beep and chime is primarily what i purchased it for. Anything else is bonus.

There is a 4th gen forscan thread in the forscan section....it has some 2020 stuff.

What @sanman28 said. Check out the FORSCAN area.

When I got my 2020, I worked with FORSCAN Engineer to determine differences. Current version should work using the quick/drop down options.

DO NOT use coding for the 18/19 BCM on the 20’s. They DO NOT match.

Enjoy!

so you were successful on A 2020?

Yes. There are a ton of things you can do. No sheet is needed, use the easy config drop down options. Most settings are don in the APIM and BCM.

Go To the FORSCAN section, do some searching and reading...

Trust me there a lot that can be done. The best part no spreadsheet needed. Actually i need the spreadsheet for one thing but it was a breeze..

Just DO NOT use a sheet for any BCM change. It is not even close to the previous Years!

Cool I ordered obd adapter. I’m familiar with German codes but not ford.

Also download crossover app for Mac.

2020 Expedition Limited.....

So, I made one change to eliminate the double honk on exit, but found that the seat belt chime and door chimes also turned off.

Changed back to allowing double honk, and both door and seatbelt chimes returned.

Why would one change affect two others..??

Below is a link to the Forscan thread that has a lot of information on the 4th gens.

I will assume you have an expedition and not an explorer.

Are you using the human readable (easy) method or the advanced method? Do you have the most recent Forscan?

Most likely you are changing more bits than what is needed. If using the easy method, then post as built before and after the change. Better yet, compare the two and see what is changed for the respective module.

Put your windows calculator in programming mode. Then you can enter the hex number and see which bits change. For example changing an F to an 8 changes bits 0,1, and 2. They all go from 1’s to zeros.

But just remember, 2020’s do not use the same BCM coding as 18/19’s. They are not even close.

I made the double honk setting on my 2020 5 or 6 times testing with a FORSCAN engineer. Never had it make more than that change. I did not do it with the current version of FORSCAN, so their might be a bug in the most recent. Worth contacting FORSCAN support over.

Got my plugin... starting to get that 'ole jittery feeling again... got a big fluid change coming with big Ford, minor warranty and maybe some software changes.
Figure I will wait till after then.

What I would really love is a 2020 FORSCAN thread, beyond the Gen 4 folks...
