Hello,

First post, this site is a great resource for my new 2020 Expedition Limited that I purchased last week. I have noticed something strange when listening to SiriusXM. The rear entertainment display shows "AQUIR" even when there is a signal, a song is playing and the artist/title is displayed on the main SYNC screen.

Has anyone else noticed this? Originally I thought it was because the rear passengers had their own media options, but I have read on other threads that the backseat control panel can only control the main audio throughout the Expedition.

I appreciate any information or experience others have with the rear entertainment display!

Thanks

For others, what does your display show while on SAT? Channel name, Artist, Song?

Thanks!

Are you in a parking deck? I’m no expert but that looks like the satellite radio saying it can’t acquire a signal. Have you tried it outside unobstructed?

I believe you can see the main radio is listening to sirius. And there is signal.

Just an odd message on the rear screen.

Thanks guys, you are right. In the picture above, I had SXM signal and a song was playing, as displayed on the main screen (albeit blurry).

Can someone help me out and report back on what their rear display reads when SXM is playing? Just curious if this is some glitch I am experiencing.

Many Thanks

I have a 2018 limited. Hard to focus both screens, but mine shows the little dog logo, sat1 and the channel on the rear display. So I'm guessing glitch. What's it show while playing something through a different source?

Thank you mpc11, that is good to know. When I am on FM, it just shows the FM frequency (e.g. 100.3). When I select "SYNC" it plays whatever would be streaming on the phone and "SYNC" stays on the screen.

Unproven theory, but I wonder if this has to do with Ford's move to SIRIUSXM vs. the legacy SIRIUS radios? I noticed that 2020 is the first Expedition model year where they have added SIRIUSXM receiver units that can receive channels above 300. The "little dog logo" was associated with the legacy SIRIUS service. No idea if that could be part of the problem. But if so, that's a pretty big oversight/miss to not have a compatible display in the rear seat.

I have a ‘20 also and mine showing the same AQUIR on rear display as yours. Your theory about SiriusXM radios may be the issue. If so, that’s sad .

I also have a 2020 expedition and have the same issue, AQUIR on rear display. I contacted the dealer that I purchased it from and they wanted to schedule a service appointment to 'diagnose' the problem. I don't need to drive a long distance to the dealer to have them tell me what I already know. I also contacted a second dealer and they did some research and were not able to find any results. Does anyone have a way to contact Ford technical support directly?

I was able to contact Ford support via online chat. The said they would send error message to their subject matter expert and send me an email in 3 days. After two weeks I have not received a reply. I connected with Ford support again and they disconnected after about 5 minutes of holding.

I have the same issue on my 2020. Ford dealer swapped out my APIM and still the same issue. I tried RACM reset via FORSCAN with no change. All other audio sources display correctly.

Bringing this thread back to life. I just noticed on my 21 the same text on the rear radio control when the source is SXM. I'm sure it's been like that from day one. Anyone figured out a fix?20240922_100607.jpg

Found the TSB. The fix is to replace the Rear Audio Control Module.
