With my 180° tstat, I just drove for a little over 4 hours on hilly interstate, 75-80 mph. Tranny temp never went out of the 170°s. Not heavily loaded.

2020 Platinum Max with 85k. I’ve notice the transmission temps slowly creeping up for at least a year.
We bought a 28 ft 2023 Airstream Globetrotter and took our first 3+ hour trip to SE Oklahoma to watch the eclipse. On the way home the tranny went to 228 degrees and the radiator went to 240. We stopped to cool off and listen to the electric fans scream for a while.
I did a coolant change and installed a 180 degree thermostat and for giggles I also changed the plugs.
Transmission temp is now 178 - 180 normal driving and 185 - 190 towing the Airstream.
Ford REALLY should either recall the thermostat or at least let us know before we cook a tranny.
