2022 Expedition Timberline -- Lift Options?

Anyone pursue a lift on the 2022 Timberline yet?

The ReadyLIFT will not work due to the factory level.

There is an ICON version, but the few companies I spoke to are not certain if they will work on the Timberline.

Bolt pattern on the rear struts? Would a F-150 2" lift spacing kit work?

I am trying to get something done in the next couple weeks. I am working with a local company willing to take on the effort. They are reaching out to redyLIFT and Rough Country to see if they have options. They are also contacting ICON and Fox Shox to see if they have anything on the radar that they are willing to share. I know current market for the Expedition lift is very low. Maybe the Timberline will open up options with companies realizing that the Expedition might be a worthy vehicle to support in their portfolio.

I am in the same situation as you are with my Timberline searched a few 4x4 specialists getting the same response no luck so far either

ReadyLIFT told my dealer that they will not break apart the rears. TReadyLIFT is also working on a new lift for the Timberline and it should be ready late 2023... Yup 2023. I'm thinking to myself, can;t they just take the puck out of the 3/2 lift and add it to one of the existing F-150 front pucks and call it a day.

I am looking into lifts for my Timberline. I am leaning towards Coil Overs. King makes them for the Expedition and Fox should also. Since the Expedition is based on the F150 I can't imagine Ford making special shock mounts just for the Expedition.

With coil overs they are height adjustable so you can level the truck how you want or even raise it less say 1".

Downside is they are more expensive. $500 a shock and up if you want quick adjustability to the terrain.

We're all in the same boat, hahah. I had my guy calling around to everyone asking if the coil overs for the non timberlines would work, and they never gave a clear answer. Icon did say they are in the R&D phase for the Timberline.

The problem with the non-Timberline kits is that they also level the front. Timberlines already come leveled and no one really knows how that would work yet.

Yeah my '19 went through a few different changes from the 3/2 ready lift, to fox, to ICON's. From what the shop said, it is more about the trail turn assist in the rear and making sure everything clears, etc.

As I haven't really looked at anything or made phone calls, I'm going off what they've said, heh.

Rough Country told me yesterday the lift will fit as long as it does not have the CCD. Neither the RC, nor the Ready Lift websites state the Timberline incompatibility, as they did previously. So is it clear to purchase these for the Timberlines?

The problem you will have there is it won’t give you any additional clearance/lift. The timberline comes with a small lift from the factory. Ford didn’t use a spacer they used what they had for an f150 Tremor. Ford like any other manufacturer uses items over and over for different vehicles. When they are trying to make a new platform they aren’t building one off parts if they can source something from their own parts shelf.

My understanding is they used the Tremor shock tower and the softer expedition coils for a nicer ride. The coils sit higher on the tower giving it slightly more lift. All of the components in the front suspension are a 1-1 swap for the f150. If you need a stronger spring to make up for weight, stick with the F150 springs.

There is another Timberline on this forum that swapped a raptor 37 front suspension under his, threw 2” spacers in the rear and is running the rough country kit to relocate the rear to center. He has 37s on his and it looks great.

I am currently working with a company to swap mine over using a kit they already have for the f150 tremor. The ride will be stiffer because of the heavier springs but I need that to make up for my 12k winch and roof top tent. The rear for now will be the rough country system until we can work a new system out.

The reason some of us picked this platform is because they are less common. No big suspension company wants to spend thousands of dollars recreating a system from scratch for a small market. We have to think outside the box.

Rough country now has a lift and I highly recommend it I have done some highway speeds some triple digit speeds been in the twisties and been off-road sand snow to mud great kit!
