I'm with you on the keypad being essential. I use it all the time on my F150 and have since my first F150 in '09.

From what I've read its now a dealer added option. Was looking at a Ranger on the Ford website as a possible future truck and noticed the Keyless Entry pad as a $95 dealer installed option. Might be the same for the Expedition.
The Ranger has never had (since its reintroduction to the US market) the keypad as a factory option; it has always been dealer installed (and honestly looks tacked on):

The Expi has its integrated under the piano black on the b-pillar and I dont think that could ever be dealer installed.

I'm not saying it 100% won't be an option or something that is trim-specific, I just don't think it could be a dealer-installed option given its placement.

Some articles saying production starts in January - does that mean a January delivery :D. Also saw in the review from TFLand the Ford engineers that this is an entirely new chasis.

If it is a new platform we can't even hope for a hybrid until the next platform at the soonest. Gotta put that battery somewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if this platform is already hybrid ready

As I recall, once production begins, finished vehicles are retained at or near the plant until a certain number of days of production have passed without any significant issues, then the OK to ship is given and the vehicles are released to the dealers. I would assume this will happen with the '25s as well...and there are a lot of changes from recent years, so March may not be a stretch.

Actually, it is the same chassis, gearbox and engine as the F150 and they have a plug-on module with battery and electric engine combined developed for that. That module is a bolt-on solution that sits between the main pillars of the chassis and connects to the gearbox. This hence fits on the current Expedition with minor modifications in theory. Therefore, I think the problem is more assembly line is not adjusted as it is built in a different factory then F150's. In fact, we had a leaked union document indicating they were going to modify this assembly line, causing the rumor the 2025 model would finally get it.

But of course, only Ford knows for sure. IMHO they are lucky Chevy is behind in engine technology and chooses to aim more at the diesel enthusiasts for now. But Jeep is offering twin-turbo V6 now too, so they cannot keep offering this engine forever and expect the competition to not catch up. That said, the current engine is not bad of course, so for me it wouldn't be a deal-breaker.

Actually, the "Hurricane" engine is an inline 6 with twin turbos. It's available in Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers and Ram 1500 pickups (which is very unpopular with the traditional Ram buyers who still want their HEMI V8s). The Hurricane is available in 420 or 510 HP configurations.

The rumor was that Ford was developing an inline 6 engine but was scrapped in development

wondering how the hell my dogs are gonna jump up into the back of this thing without breaking their legs.

the split tailgate appears to sit higher then a convantinal tailgate thats got a tiny step built into the bumper right below where the tailgate used to shut. looks to be a few inches higher and less forgiving now.

The rear bumper looks the same height. Yes, the tailgate lays flat on the bumper but the whole floor to include the cargo entrance is completely flat. There was a little inch or so ledge in the rear cargo bay that you had to get over as well in the current fords, so the difference seems kinda legible. I can't seem to find any info or dimensions for the liftover height, but I don't see it being more than an inch difference. I'm sure if your dogs can get in there now, they can get in the new one. My pup is getting older too, but if he wants to ride and we let him, he's getting in regardless lol.

Went to the state fair today to look at the new Expeditions. Like others have said I liked the new dash far more in person than in the photos. I gave the new dash a 4/5 and so did my wife. We prefer the Expedition over the new Navigator because of the larger camera displays (my mil has a nautilus and I we don’t like the camera size). We also were looking at the new high country suburban. We each gave the suburban dash a 2.5/5. The biggest pro to the new expedition was that at 6’5” I could nearly fit under the lift gate while with the suburban I hit about eye level. My wife preferred the high country suburban styling, mainly because of the wheels.

I haven’t seen it mentioned yet, but there is a platinum max with the salt crystal grey interior and 24’s inside the auto building. They aren’t letting you open it though for whatever reason.

We were a little underwhelmed with the exterior styling, and more impressed than initially thought with the interior. The max looked good with the 24’s, but they look a little like snowflakes. The new high country wheels really pop in comparison.

Overall I think my wife wants an Escalade (not happening). She likes the GM exterior but hates the Chevy interior. We both love the ford interior but feel we need to make some changes to the exterior to fully enjoy it. I am going to decide on the new Expedition.

Im not a fan of the 24s, but i prefer the 24s on the navigator to the expy. Some of the 24s on the gms do look better than what's on the ford, but that's because they have 4x the options. However, if I get any of these, it won't be with 24s, esp a ford. Gm was smart enough to use air suspension to mitigate how uncomfortable the ride will be. But Ford decided against it, why? I am obsessed with the expy stealth pkg, and the wheels are almost perfect. I still prefer the nav, esp the interior. It does suck the the expy is getting the better camera system...weird for the luxury marque gets the basic camera. One thing I would not like about the escalade, that huge screen looks too close to the driver, which is a bit uncomfy for me. I wish I could be able to see one of these in person, but guess ill have to wait.

Just saw the new 2025 Exp, looks good! I'll probably stay with mine for now (only has 14K miles on it) but I'd like to buy the 2025 24 inch wheels (and tires) when the come out. Any recommendations as to how to do that? (Go to the dealer, post here, open to any and all thoughts.)
