Legit concerns for sure.

The truck does have pretty intuitive voice controls as well. I guess to me, it makes no difference, stack buttons or touch screen I'm still looking away from The road to make a change. There are some touchscreen that require screen hunting, luckily to me the new expy isn't like this for the standard controls. And I also wouldn't get a vehicle I didn't like as much because it has hard buttons.
There are several controls I change on regular basis that do not have voice commands or they have flaws. For instance, if I change the temp setting it changes both driver and passenger to the temp. My wife always sets hers different. I have tried saying “driver” and it’s a no go. Seat heat/cool does not have voice control.

It’s really a shame that it Ford is so bad at technology. Other than these gripes I love it.

Keep working at it.

I can get the dual climates to work when asking for driver temp to increase, only driver side goes up and when asking to drop passenger side, that side is only affected.

Voice commands for heated seats are working fine as I can differentiate driver and passenger seats to turn on and increase or decrease temp but unable to get air conditioned/ventilated to work the same

Enjoy!

I finally got to see one in person. That steering wheel is small.

Thanks. I will see if I just didn’t know what to say.

My biggest happy surprise with it so far:

I watched all the videos I could find, I saw the Expy at LA Auto Show - nothing highlighted a feature I loved on my Kia Telluride: turn signal cameras. Such a nice surprise, but weird it wasn't mentioned anywhere.

For the steering wheel, I don't really notice the new design unless I try to think about it.

The new infotainment system is amazing - I love not using CarPlay/Android Auto. Really solid experience.

Thank you for checking. The widgets you can put on the upper screen are no different than the ones you would put on the IP if it was behind the steering wheel. I have a 2025 Explorer ST and it has the new infotainment system that is similar to the Expedition. The widgets are controlled on the steering wheel though. Except, the Explorer has the tachometer. This is unacceptable if it’s true. I hope they realize the omission and add the tachometer. How are you supposed to know how the engine speed is doing in manual mode?

So you have multiple widgets on the IP? Are they always visible or do you scroll through them with the wheel pads?

We've been looking and it doesn't appear to be a way to have more than one widget up there.

And as ErikinSC said, manual mentions the tachometer but I'll be dammed if I can find it.

Yep, I was trying to figure out the same thing. It appears that you should have three widgets… Need to investigate this further. Maybe I need to let it do a software update?
I saw a video on the Lincoln with the screen the whole way across the dash. The person there could put widgets in the other two positions. I wonder if this is just a limitation with our 25s having half the screen real estate??

The Explorer has the widgets in the center of the IP and you can only select one widget at a time to be displayed. Calm screen, gauges, driver assistance, tire pressure etc. This is similar to the Expedition Gen 4 and you use the steering wheel control to scroll through the widgets. Looks like you can only have one widget displayed on the gen 5 too. The only difference is they moved it from the steering wheel control to the infotainment screen. Please let me know if I’m wrong.
Also does the navigation map stay up top full time? This wouldn’t leave room for a speedometer and tachometer.

The navigation map stays on the right side of the driver's screen. You can turn it on and off. There is also a calm mode which turns off the middle widget and navigation map to darken the screen. (like you mentioned). I also found out that some video apps (Netflix and Amazon Prime can move the video from the center screen to the drivers screen. Not sure why you would want to do that since it is only in the very center and smaller.

Is it not visible in sport mode?

Lemme switch into Manual while driving home today and see if it shows up....
Found them. Once you switch to sport/spirited on road driving or into the off-road mode, the tachometer shows under the speedometer

I like to see the tach also, but manual mode in these trucks is pointless.
