I have a 98 expy two wheel drive with a 4.6L, the police department I purchased it from had installed a new Jasper block and trans. It was smoking white and running rough, I removed the intake and found the rear passenger side plug was wet and rusty from a leak around the gasket. My problem is there are two passenger side rear bolt holes on the head/block but only one bolt location on the rear of the aluminum intake. I purchased a new aluminum intake for the same year, it also has only one bolt location for the rear passenger side.
Is there are different model number for the 98? How can I determine what intake I need to install?

I don't know exactly the fix for that but I do know I have read more than one post on it. I think you will find it if you search coolant leak. But sense you have the intake off I would replace that coolant tube that runs under the intake. A lot of people have had that go bad. If i remember right I think the coolant leaking back there had to do with the rubber gasket and something to do with sandable epoxy... i could be wrong tho.

Coolant leak search

I have search the coolant leak in the forums, but no one has the same problem I do.
My questions is why is there two bolt holes in the rear passenger side of the motor/head and only one bolt hole in the intake? Do I have the wrong intake?

Is there more than one intake for this year 4.6l?

I have posted photos to help explain my question.
