I have a problem, I need to replace my transmission E4OD 1997, my main option is a 4R100 2000, only the Turbine shaft sensor does not come in the electrical harnes 97. Anyone know if it might work, leaving aside the TSS.

My guess is it would create problems due to the differences in the pcm programming and wiring harness of course.

I would agree. Best bet is to rebuild and bulletproof the current tranny or look for another E4OD out of a junk truck.

i would rebuilt the E4OD, find a good tranny shop and have the valve body upgrades done, personally i don't think the clutch upgrades are worth it with the 5.4 in stock form. and get a heavy duty Torque Converter

I just installed the 4R100 in my ford expedition 97 and feel that works much better, with more power the drivetrain. All positions of the shift lever function properly.
