4x4 problems....

Hey guys, I got a 97 Expedtion, Eddie Bauer, 5.4L, blah blah anyways, my 4wd went out. Im pretty sure its electronic but i cant figure out what. I know that i dont have any power running into the switch. Right before it went out it wasnt wanting to shift into and out of 4x4, then i lost 4hi, and 4low, but my A4WD still worked, but now i have nothing.

Some people i talked to say its my GEM module?? I was wondering if there was a relay somewhere? I find it odd that i have no power running into my switch, at all. The 2hi should be hot all the time right?

Help me out guys....winters coming

If not, it could be the transfer case motor - common thing to go out.

Maybe the GEM - if your windshield leaks water and you have other funny electrical problems

Lastly, and unlikely as I've never heard of this going out, maybe the 4x4 selector switch on the dash.

What would consitute a funny electrical problem?

I got a few dash lights out, but nothing other then that. I changed ths switch, didnt work.

It did happen after going through a mud/water hole.

where in michigan you from and where was that picture taken? if from cadillac area.

it sounds like you may have blown a fuse. have you checked your fuse box under the hood?

I dont have an owners manual. I borred my buddies from his 99 F150 but its totally different. But i coudlnt find any blowed ones.
