My transmission went out on my 2006 Expedition. Getting frustrated with this thing to begin with because of a battery drain issue we can't find. Only bought it last March. Anyway, the other day we were coming home and my overdrive went out. My son took the transmission apart this AM hoping it was the servo clip, but it is not. Thinks it is the clutch or something requiring an entire rebuild. He has a 2002 F350 with a 6.8L. He bought the truck wrecked with the intention of putting engine and tranny in his 1983 F350. That is another story and not happening at this point. So, question is, has anyone put a 6.8 in their Expedition and if so, how hard was it. We know we would have to have the computer reflashed, but what about fit and anything else we are going to run into? Should we even consider it?
Out of ALL the Fords we have here and we have owned, this is the one I REGRET buying. Not sure if it will ever be OK.

That was kind of uncalled for. I mean I understand what you mean but still.

To the OP, sounds like a unique swap. Probably uncharted territory. Good luck and if you do decide to attempt it, definitely get pics and stuff.

It has been done once before. The owner of that expedition is now an idol lol. If you DO accomplish such a task, make sure to post pics, videos and plenty of info!
