If you all haven’t tuned your expedition yet you need to. Just got my 93 perf tune installed on x4 and very impressed. It smokes 35s no problems. Same HP torque results as an F150. Highly recommend. Here’s a little roll from 30 to 80 this morning

John , what year Expedition did you do your tune to? And what shop did the work? Our readers would love your answer.

Oh my apologies, it’s a 2016 expedition EL platinum 4x4. 5 star tuning in Florence does the custom tuning. No revisions as Ive only had the tune on the truck for about a week. I also got their 93 perf/tow tune. For a 7000 lb truck with a 3” lift and 35s the thing moves like a ***** ape!

Excellent choice in tune and tuner. I run the same setup on my truck and keep in 4A now because I was tired of going sideways when trying to pull out fast. Never disappointing how fun it is for the sheer size of these trucks.

As an FYI, I forget to switch the Perf tune for the Perf/Tow and lugged my enclosed trailer at 7,500 pounds for 600 miles doing 75 mph without a problem besides the gas mileage (9.8).

Is the 93 perf tune a 93 octane performance tune? Forgive my ignorance here. I only have 87, 89 & 91 octane fuel here. Does this void warranty?
Yes, 93 perf” is 93-octane performance in this instance. You can get other tunes for lower octane, I have an 87-octane tune as well, but I never use it, truck feels more responsive on the 93 tune to my butt dyno, which is good enough for me.

As far as the warranty goes, yes and no. Technically they have to prove that your modifications caused whatever failed, but if your engine lets go and they scan the computer and it shows it was tuned, I would expect Ford isn’t going to replace it. Some dealers are less concerned about it than others, as well. My dealer here is pretty lackadaisical about mods in regards to doing warranty work. They won’t “look” for a way to get out of doing something under warranty unless directed by Ford.

The dealers make money on warranty work and most will never turn it down. They should advocate for you, unless a Company rep gets involved, which is required in some shops on high-dollar claims or claims that are engineering-oriented.
