I recently purchased a '98 Eddie Bauer and have noticed the right rear is 1" lower than the left rear. Shop manuals only show one adjustment for the rear not one for each wheel. Is there a fix other than replacing the RR individual bag?
Thanks,
Ken

Pony, take a look at the sway bar for the rear. it is very possible you have a failed link back there and that is causing the truck to lean. Granted, odds are, the problem is really in the front of the truck with the sway bar links there. The front ones are notorious for breaking and causing the truck to lean like you are seeing. odds are the left front is broken. A new set of links are like $15 at a local auto parts store.

could it be because the gas tank is on driver side and maybe the tank was low? the factory ride height adjustments may be for a full tank of gas so if it were low then that side would sit higher. just a thought

JT, the front has 2 height sensors (one on each side) and that should level out the truck. So, unless the frame is bent (highly unlikely), it is a suspension issue. Like I mentioned, the front sway bar end links are notorious for failing and causing this sort of thing.

it now appears that my rear is 4" lower than the front. Last week it was pretty normal and I could hear the compressor run part of the time. Now I don't hear the comp run at all and the back end stays lower. Is it possible the rear sensor is stuck and won't turn on the compressor? If so how chan I check it out?
Thanks!

Thanks for everyones input. We're out of town for the weekend and I'll get under it when we get home. It appeares, however, that a coil over conversion is in my future. I guess it's time to sell some more mustang parts.

Thanks THERMO, it was the front sway bar bushings. The drivers front was gone completely and the passenger side were half gone. $15 and 2 hours later (had to hacksaw off a bolt) and the truck sets like it should. Also it drives and rides nice. So I'm good for the present. I appreciate everyones help. After 6 weeks and a bunch of little items fixed I'm finally getting comfortable with the truck.

khpony, not a problem. The problems with these trucks are normally repeats of what others have experienced in the past. This is a common one. Something you may want to consider doing is going to the hardware store and getting some grade 8 bolts that are the same size as the ones in the kit you bought. Probably run you another $10 or so, but then you won't have to worry about the bolts breaking again in the future.
