Looking to change out the front spindles on my 98 Expo. Reason..... if you warp the rotors you have to replace the whole wheel bearings and rotor as a combo. Plus they are more expensive.

If I change the spindles from a 2001 were the rotors are like the rear, then it becomes more cost effective to swap rotors or replace without having to do wheel bearings as well.

Does this make sense and can it be done?

opps forgot its 2wd not 4wd

not sure if the 2wd A arms would work, pretty sure i read somewhere wouldn't with a 4wd spindle; does the 2wd use coil springs?

another issue is how to secure/seal the wheel bearing which is normally done via the cv axle assy: u must find a way around this, otherwise the bearing will let loose! that can happen quick & sudden locking up the wheel including being cocked lef/right of center

cutting/sawing off the wheel end of a front axle'd prob work for the above

checked out ebay quick & saw a 2wd disc for 55 bux

wheel stud size is also slightly diff from 98 vs 01
