I’ve been trying my hardest to maintain my vehicle and recently it has started to stutter at certain speeds and even when I’m idle. Something that it’s never done before. I don’t have a check engine light nor any pending codes so I’m puzzled at what it could be.

Could be a lot of things. Nobody could know, I don't believe, without understanding the maintenance history of the Expy. Have the air cleaner, fuel filter, and spark plugs been replaced … when? List goes on & on.

Cant do diagnosis without evidence.
Did you pull codes and none listed?

I have changed the air filter, I changed the mass air flow sensor about 2 months ago. I have changed 2 coil packs the 1st and 4 th the only codes I got on the scanner. I also recently had my engine rear seal changed for a leak. The last owner said he replaced the spark plugs but I won’t have any history on that.

Yeah it sounds kind of similar but scanner is not throwing me any codes at all so it’s hard to tell which one of any is the bad one ?

I’m having the same issue on my 2001 5.4L V8... same symptoms, no codes pending or stored. Odd thing is I changed the battery today bc the vehicle had been sitting for around 3 months in my driveway bc I was afraid of doing more damage- the rough idle is now almost non existent after a few test drives, acceleration is at least 70% better, and I haven’t seen the CEL (MIL) flash or come on and stay like a few times before. I just didn’t think a bad battery would cause those symptoms?

Again, keep it simple before throwing parts at it. Could just be vacuum leaks. Hoses w/heat & age wear out and crack.
