99 xlt interior lights

My wife says her expy 's interior lights would stay on until she started the vehicle. Now the lights go off when she closes the door? Is this normal or is there something else i should be looking for?. I just replaced the headlight swicth due to no main or high beams, that fixed that problem just wondering if i messed something else up or my wife is imagining things, lol.

There is a common problem with the door switches in Fords. The switches go bad and make the vehicle think the door is still open and keeps the lights on-there are a million articles on the net about this

I understand that, thanks, My wife told me that before i changed the light switch that the interior lights stayed on until she put the key in. Now the lights go off as soon as she closes the door
