I have an issue with my 2001 Exp. The brake pedal verrrrryyyyyy ssssllllloooowwwwwlllllyyyyy travels to the floor when applied and the brakes fade off. It stops fine, but when sitting at a stop light, after about 10-15 seconds of keeping pressure on the pedal, you can feel the brakes slowly release and more pedal pressure is needed to keep stopped. There is NO FLUID leaking anywhere I can see or feel, and there is no change in fluid level in the reservoir. Just to be clear, it takes probably a good minute of keeping firm pressure on the pedal to get it to go to the floor. Done some research and I think that the master cylinder needs replaced. After I do this, how do I bleed the ABS module? I have heard that I need to take it to a garage and have them use a scan tool to do it. Are there any methods for an above average driveway mechanic to do it.
Thanks for any advise and help that is given!
