I have a 2023 Expedition already out of warranty but was at the Ford Dealership today programming for another key. They said that my Active Grill Shutter was throwing codes and suggested that it would throw Check Engine light later on. I want to be sure this just isn't a bad fuse - can anyone point me to the fuse that controls it?

Thank you!

aren't the fuses in the owners manual ? On my 2019, the wiring diagrams say its F36 in the Battery Junction Box. That fuse goes to a LOT of other stuff, fans, a/c compressor, etc etc, so if it was out, you'd probably have a lot more issues.

When the car is off, the shutters open and that’s their default position which is what I see my vehicle do. After I start it up, if I turn on the AC, they shut on start up but reopen again. If no AC is on, they stay closed until the engine warms up. See if yours are cycling at least on start up from open to close.

There is two sets of shutters BTW. One for the radiator and another that’s separate for the intercooler down lower. If the radiator set is moving, you might need to buy a cheap OBD scanner to see what codes are stored and for which one.

In the BJB block (under hood), Fuse F36 appears to control the shutters. However, it is also shared with a number of other functions so I'm not sure if it were going "bad" a number of other items would fall out.

Thanks all. I checked all of the fuses and they were fine. I will do some other checking on the connections and figure out what to do next.
