Aftermarket brake controller suggestions

Getting ready for a cross country tow in a month or so. Have a 2014 EL XL with the HD tow package, buuuuuttt it's a govt ordered truck, and although the wiring is there, the dash controller isn't. All my towing exp is in a semi, so I'm looking for ideas on a good aftermarket system?

How much is the OEM Ford part? Why not go with that?

I had the factory one and it internally melted on my on a long trip. I now have the Tekonsha Prodigy p3 and am very happy with it. They make a direct connect pigtail, so no cutting wires.
