I am a new owner of a 1998 EB, with air ride. Can someone explain the cycle of the air suspension to me. The compressor goes on everytime I put the car in Drive or Reverse. Is this normal? The car also elevates when its in 4 Low. It doesnot seem to cycle when the truck is driving.

Thanks for your input

You got a 4wd with airride front and rear?

The airride goes up about 2" when you select 4wd-low, thats normal.
I've never noticed that the compressor starts when I select D or R

When you think that the compressor has to work many, check the airpipes for a leak with a spray.
Look for the heigth-sensor too under the car, near the rear axle...and check the bags for a leak

Thats what i would do first.

When you start the truck the air compressor should come on as the truck is in the kneeling position, it should raise to the trim position, when you shut off the ignition and open any door, the truck will lower herself.
