The problem with rain and NASCAR is this. Yes, they have raced in the rain as they did in Mexico on the road course, but the whail tails these tires throw out the rear you can not see nothing in front of you. Also, they have experimented with windshield wipers but the wiper can not stay on the windshield applying pressure to clean the windshield with the draft that is created inbetween 2 or more cars in a row. And lastly, there is no defrosters in the cars to defog the windshield and allow for visibility. So yes, they can, but then again for safety of the driver, it is very unsafe to run in the rain.
Now the example I gave you was at a average speed of 85 to 115 miles an hour on a road course. Jus tinmagine on a super speedway at speeds of 200mph. Windhield wipers would fly off the cars, fogged up windshields would intensify. That is death in a can for sure.

i dont see a problem still. i see plenty of races where cars reach upwards of 200+ and its raining. im not saying that they are going 200+ but they can hit it. they have wipers and rain tires and defrosters. i mean hell porches and mclarens can do it why cant "stock" cars. i mean hell those europing race cars are more "stock" then nascar stock cars. haha open wheel cars race in the rain and so do motorcycles. just makes no sense is all. i understand safety. i just see a lot of money flying away every time they have a rain delay/reschedule.

I would like to see better set ups for rainy race days as well. Hate watching races on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Yup. I'll just record everything on Fox from 10 in the morning until 4. I'm pretty sure it starts at 12 eastern. So that will be 10am here.

Man that is the most bizarre wreck with Montoya and the track blower. That track has to have a crater burnt where that truck is sitting. I hope they do not call the race due to the track being damaged.

Well Jimmie Johnson was penalized 25 driver points which gives him a negative 23 points and 70 points behind 1st place after just one race. That is a hugh hole to be in right off the bat. Chad Knaus is suspended for 6 races, and 100k, and so is there car engineer. This all came about due to the failed pre-race inspection for c-pillars not conforming to spec and the templets. As NASCAR has determined that the 48 team did this modification of the c-pillars to gain an avantage over the fiels in aerodynamics. NASCAR is expecting the Hendricks team to appeal this, and if they do, then they will be allowed at each race until a finding is giving by the NASCAR officials.
