i came out to my truck a 2001 4.6 v8 this morning and the light on the instrument panel were all on and it was making a clicking noise. tried to start it and it cranks but doesnt turn over. so not sure how lights would be on if no key in ignition any help would be very grateful for. i checked batt and it was good. dont know if its starter or if lights on like that might mean another electrical problem.

Yes it did rain some last night wasn't wet on the carpets though. What are you thinking it might be?

A windshield leak let water into the GEM (behind the fuse panel), and shorted something. Generally, it results in people with dead batteries because everything turns on (AC, dash lights, etc). Seems to be a common enough problem.

Usually the windshield seals. I think getting a new one fixes the problem. Is the windshield still the one from the factory?
