I know one can just pull it up on the dash if need be.
I bought the OBDLinkMX+ back around Black friday for $55 which is a pretty good deal as it is usually $99. for the time being I have just been fooling with their app that comes with the device. Pretty much just bought it as a nice little scan tool and to have a real time gauge display.
So far I have located all the gauge items that I would like but can't seem to find the trans temp with their app. I am not opposed to another app using iOS at the moment can switch to Android if need be but would prefer not to.
Anyone using a particular app or OBDLinks app to read trans temp that could help me out.

OBDLink has about zero instructions and ZERO email contact info that I can locate on their site.

Scangauge II here as well. It's a great little tool that keeps on eye on things in my 2010 and worked wonders for helping keep my 2006 6.0 diesel alive before I bought the Expedition.

I use an UltraGauge MX. I paid $99 shipped for it 3.5 years ago. The app I've seen mentioned most for those with generic BT devices is Torque Pro, but I've never used it personally.

OBDFusion does it. I cant verify this right now, but I believe that PID may be in an extended set you need to purchase separately

After some more fooling and trying locate an email address. Way deep in the settings I found an option for a premium vehicle specific add on for $10.
One thing listed was ABS sensor readings, that is worth the $10. Went for the upgrade and said my device was eligible for one free vehicle package.
Downloaded it and loaded it up. It added over 1,000 more PID readouts!
So I located the trans temp, still find it strange that is not a standard option.
So now I have over 1,000 options to figure out what else will be usefull for my needs.
Guess I need to find a good way to mount the iPad as the phone screen is kind of small.

I tested the trans temp and it matched the dash read out so that is good.

Just me and the kiddos home at the moment so I can’t test this stuff connected to the vehicle at the moment.
But am going thru all the options and there are tons of things. Some say things like enable/disable traction control, enable/disable fog light indicator.
All these things can likely be done in ForScan but wondering if this app will actually make changes too.

Also looks like I will be able to view individual tire pressures.

That looks like an awesome find. I would love to be able to monitor the individual TPS sensors on my Expedition. I'm going to have to invest in one of these wireless adapters one day soon.

I’ll keep you all updated.
I presume it will give a numerical psi read out as that is the unit of measure shown next to the option.
Hope to get a little more time to fool with it tomorrow.

It does!

I documented this with a Kiwi 3 and several different apps a while back on here.

It also works with the MX+, which is the brand new BT adapter that also works with iDevices now. By far the best one on the market now. Well work the money. It does MSCan, so it can also be used for FORScan with a laptop.

Also, like was already mentioned, these are Ford Specific Pids and OBDLink(OBDFusion for just the MX adapters), and OBDFusion both need a purchase of the enhanced PIDs for your year. The cool thing is the MX+ comes with one upgrade for free.

No, just set with a ****** gauge! I think the pic was actually from my Edge after a little heat in the tires. I normally run around 40 in the Expy. That was the great part of this...I can watch it come up and down with tire temp.

The annoying part, still can’t get the Boost to register and zero correctly, if you do the math live based on number at idle it is accurate.

There's probably quite a bit of lag between the sensor output and the displayed value; I would also guess the ECM does some averaging of a set number of data samples to smooth the response of the rest of the engine controls.

Boost will show negative or vacuum at a idle.

I understand the concept. The issue the factory or after market real gauges register zero, and register peaks over 20. This PID never does.

My Roush Mustang don't hit zero to somewhere around 2200 rpm's.
