Auto control on a/c

So just bought 08 EL EB about 3 weeks ago, the blower fan went crazy this weekend. I was sitting in front of a store waiting on my wife to “grab a couple things”. A/C is on auto and I bump tempature down a few degrees and blower fan comes on full speed. And it is stuck on. I tried to turn whole system off and back on , tried to use manual fan speed control, and it just kept blowing. Had to turn key off and restart engine and then it resumed normal function. Any ideas or similar experiences?

Yep. Blower motor control module. Easy fix, under the dash behind the glovebox. Bought motorcraft replacement on Amazon and saved a bunch of cash over dealership prices. 15 minutes or so if you're handy with tools.
