I know this was asked a few years ago (I did try to search) and got very limited response, and no solution. Is there any way to have the vehicle automatically lock doors after say 15 minutes or whatever? Sometimes my wife (even me once) forgets to lock the vehicle after she gets a bunch of crap out of it. With the weather getting warmer the complimentary door handle checkers in my area will be out providing the "ransacked your vehicle" experience for everyone. Thanks

No.

Teach yourself to use the FordPass app before bed to ensure it is locked.

If you are handy, you could wire up an electronic circuit to activate the door lock switch if certain criteria were met. Car parked, engine off, time elapsed = 15 minutes. But if a door is left open, you need to activate the horn etc.

My wife left purse in car, door open , once because she was in a hurry. . You can guess the rest.

Just to add… My wife’s $30K 2017 Honda CR-V has proximity lock feature. If you walk 8 feet from the vehicle with the remote, it automatically locks. This is not some super expensive feature that only $100K+ exotics get.

I was super surprised that it was not a feature.

My 2010 MDX also had it, so clearly it's been a Honda feature for a while.

I had this feature in a 2017 Yukon. It was very handy. I was shocked the Exp/Nav does not have it.
