Breaking and entering
sup yall...
just a quick story ....
My 2000expy got broken into last night... found out this a.m as I walked to the car so I could go to work...

Turn the key, (yes the truck was locked) open the door, BOOM! radio and GPS GONE!!!!

whoever did it was very very good at it... upon examining the truck apparently dude pried the bottom of the door lock dis activated the keypad and popped the lock. DUDE EVEN RELOCKED IT WHEN HE WAS DONE! dude knew exactly how to get the big plastic molding off around the radio & heating units and popped the radio out... from the outside you'd never know anything happened...

I guess its just that easy to get into an expy... still cant believe it
could have been worse... at least I still have the car! lol

Sorry to hear that man.
That has happened to me three times in fresh meadows. First time they took my in dash nav. Other two times they tried to take the car but luckily where not able to. All three times they busted out a window. The cops don't seem that interested in doing anything either. The shop I go to installs deadbolts inside the door that cant be opened from the outside or inside only with the rf key. I'm thinking about getting them.

I had a guy try the same thing on my truck. Needless to say, they gave up on trying to get the radio out since all the bolts were on the backside of the radio and in order to get the radio out, they would have had to destroy the whole dash. I could see where they had tried to get the radio out, but all they did was dent the plastic a little bit. If you want a play by play on how to install your radio this way, let me know. It isn't hard, but at the same time, it isn't a simple thing either. Adds about 3 hours to a radio install. But, when the robbers see the big metal straps coming up on the sides of the radio, they pretty much know they are beaten.

I'm sorry to hear that too. I hate thieves. Fortunately mine is safe from theft - my stereo is pretty sucky and no thief in his right mind would go through the trouble.
