I just bought an 02 Expo and the belt makes a short
squeal when I gun the motor to pass someone. Happens
right before I lay off the gas. anyone else have this problem
or heard of it?

Thanks

Look at the belt and see if it is worn. If it is, replace it, they are like $17 at AutoZone. If it's not worn, the tension may be too tight. You can lubricate it with belt dressing to make it stop squealing in the mean time though.

it's a serpentine belt. it runs EVERYTHING off 1 belt. you need a socket and a breaker bar to un-tension the tensioner (i forgot the size). just put the socket on the tensioner, pull the bar, and slip the belt off. route the new belt as shown on the decal in your engine compartment, slipping it over the tensioner last. release the bar, and you're all done.
