Pretty badass, right?

Trailridge, Made in Taiwan, $265 shipped for the pair, ordered from 1A but thru Amazon for free shipping & 5% cashback.

...still wish they were $120 - 150 like F150 or F250 versions, though. And the passenger side main glass was indeed straight flat mirror, no curve to it, might end up having to hunt down a replacement

Sorry bout the bad pics, they too dang black to get good nighttime cellphone camera shots against a white car

PS install is fairly easy, need a small flathead to pop the screw covers, largish phillips screwdriver and a 7mm socket on a screwdriver handle or extension for the door screws, and - oddly - what seemed to be a 3/8" socket for the mirror mount (keep the nuts, included nuts are worse). Bungee cord passed thru the window to hold mirror and door panel as youre working makes it a simple 1 man job.

Door screws are 1 hidden by the handle, 2 hidden vertical ones in the armrest pocket thingie, 1 semi hidden on the side that swings out, and two along the bottom. Mirror is attached via three nuts that are either 3/8" or pretty damn close to it. Trailridge sent new nuts in a different size, but the old ones fit on the threaded rods so i just reused those

Are these powered? Extendable? Just curious. My McKesh strap ons have been working for 16 seasons.

Power adjustment for "main" top mirror & allegedly heated.... manual fold / manual telescope / manual lower fisheye mirror adjustment

2017-10-03 07.02.29.jpg

Didnt buy it for towing --- bought it for not seeing jack shit backing up and making an ass of myself parallel parking. Cheaper than backing into shit...

Also my stock mirror glass was looking kinda "tired" anyway (scratched up AF for some reason)....hoping to toss the original mirrors on CL, recoup maybe 150, and treat it as a slightly more expensive alternative to replacing the glass on that old shit

Oh and hey, imho them stock mirrors looked too puny.

I like your mirrors Adieu.

I would love to find them that did the following:
  • Power adjust
  • Auto fold
  • Auto extend
  • Turn signal
  • Blind spot indicator
  • Puddle lamp
  • Color match or with chrome cap

Auto fold, auto extend, and blimdspot dont exist

Mine have power adjust and puddle lamp

Turn signal is available for like +$90, but its only on the rear side

Top cap seems to be removable for painting

....but yeah, join the "damn aftermarketers, why you not just sell us the superduty version with an expedition-shaped mount?!" club

Yeah that's a bummer. I wonder if you could get the super duty mirrors and marry the to an aftermarket base to make it fit the Expedition. It would be an interesting project.

Looked into it, came away with the conclusion that there's no sense to attempting it.

Which part is the dealbreaker for you, anyway?

Power telescope is pretty much a gimmick, but power fold COULD come in handy...

hell, I've used it on my tiny lil BMW 3series for maneuvering around Hollywood and LAX before --- though, in all honesty, mostly for cutting in front of people and weaving thru traffic and being a general ******* bimmer driver....NOT really out of actual need.

Anywhere a midsize delivery truck can get thru, an Expedition can too and easily, mirrors or no mirrors, tow or not, folded or not or fully extended even...might just mean having to actually wait your turn, though, no cutting thru bike lanes or shoulders if something huge and wide is in front of you

As to blind spot stuff, you aint really got any with tow mirrors...hell, you can see your own brake lights and turn signals in action

Blindspot system is just an indicator light or something on the mirror, right? Not full on radar with additional what and where info???

I guess for me the power fold is more important the power telescope because I don't do a lot of towing, but when I park in a parking lot I fold my mirrors in. The blind spot indicator light is important too.

The Blindspot is a radar system with the indicator light. Without the light, you will here the beep chime but you will not know what side it is on so the light really helps direct your attention to the right area. The color coded mirror cap or chrome cap would just dress it up and make it look more appropriate for the rest of my truck.

You could mount an indicator light...or get the version with turn signals and wire them to the radar instead

So you have a BIG mother-in-law too??

Wouldn't mind one, god knows a reliable source of hearty home-cooked nutrition would be downright life-changing.... but nope.

...why you ask?

That's an idea. Are yours also heated?

Do you have a link to where you bought them?

1A Auto or their Amazon store, "Trail Ridge" brand, made in Taiwan.... sole source around for Expeditions.

They google up two sets of versions, labelled 2003-2010 and 2015, allegedly that's only about the wiring connectors, otherwise the same, and a few different option sets price 240 to 360ish

Supposedly heated.

Not sure if thats actually hooked up or what, it had two additional wires besides the connector...and nothing immediately obvious on the truck side to connect em to, and no manual (although they had some youtube vids or some such shit). Maybe theyre supposed to go into the unused positions on the connector for alternative applications for other years or something, they had something on the ends that sorta looked like it was supposed to click into something.

Thanks Adieu,

I took a look at them and if they do everything they say they do, they will work. I think I can mount an LED on the side of the mirror facing the driver's side to use for the Blind Spot indicator. I've put it in my wish list for later consideration. I'm not sure if the power for the LED in the factory mirrors is actually in the glass or a separate wire that connects to the LED - that's something I'll have to check out later as well.

What you think them so-called "tow hooks" up front be for???

Just hook up a good, sturdy cable, throw the truck in reverse --- it'll get her right out thru the door like she petite again

Doesnt really matter, it'll still be a pin or two on the connector harness coming off the mirror, no way around it
