Can I quicken the steering ratio

Hi all, I own a 2014 expedition EL. Been very good to us so far, not a problem with it. My only complaint is that the steering ratio is the absolute worst ... to the point where I hate driving the truck because of it. Is there a replacement rack available anywhere with a quicker ratio? Maybe something out of a police edition or a performance oriented F150 that would interchange? Around town driving is past tiresome. It's like driving a bus around ... never seen such slow steering outside of a commercial vehicle.

I wonder if that’s an EL only thing, or if you have something else going on. mine isn’t like that at all.

It takes a full turn or more to go around a corner. I've had several other trucks, none with steering as slow as this thing. You gotta crank like a madman to park it lol ... wondering if there are other racks with faster ratios used in the different trims of expeditions and F150s. Haven't come up with anything via internet search, figured someone here may be in the know.

Geez I have a 2014EL and I don't notice anything like that.
I also have a 2003 XLT to compare it to & had a 99 before that.

Maybe I just never noticed or maybe ????

I used to have a 67 Chevy Van and that thing was a workout!
It was like trying to raise a boat up on a boat hoist.

I've got an EL also and one of the reasons I chose it over a Suburban or Sequoia is because of the more responsive steering. For me, the Suburban has too much play and the Sequoia (like all Toyotas) has a significant amount of understeer. I definitely don't have to do a full turn to go around a corner. Parallel parking does suck, but if I was living in the city where that was a frequent occurrence I wouldn't have an EL at all.

Have you had the alignment checked and lubed? I know when mine is in need of service the steering does get to be a real *****.

Have you tried driving a car with bigger wheels and lower profile tires? My Explorer has 255-20 tires on 20 inch wheels and the very low sidewalls make steering much more responsive. May be an answer to your concerns. Try driving a setup like that and see what you think.
