Can you clean or service a built-in PCV valve on 2005 Expedition?

Well on the 5.4L engine it's pretty easy to swap. It just pushes into the valve cover, but removing the spring clip for the coolant hoses can be slightly tricky. You might consider changing the mounting grommet as well, which I had to get from the local dealer.

On the 4.6L I've never done it or seen one so I'm not certain, but it seems as though it's replaceable. Rock Auto sells replacements and it looks like they just rotate in.

The new forum layout got me here too. Unread isn't enough anymore.

I believe you have to replace the cover on the ‘05 and up to replace the PCV. In my ‘06, I ran it through the parts washer until the check ball moved freely. Haven’t had any PCV issues that I’m aware of.
