this might be a dumb question, but will leaving my phone's car charger plugged into the power socket drain my battery? just don't want to come out 1 morning & my battery dead b/c i left the charger plugged in.

If you have before with no issues chances are you will be fine.

But I would say it depends on the condition of the battery, length of time and load for your particular charger.

I have gps in my work van and leave it plugged in all the time. Have gone up to a week with out running it and it always starts right up.

You should be fine. To put things into perspective, to even charge a fully dead cell phone battery, it will take about 1.5 amp hours to do this. Your truck battery has 80 amp-hours of storage. So, that little bit that you take out is insignificant. The clarifier that I will put on this is if you leave the truck off for a few days. Then the losses from the computers inside the truck running with the phone on top could possibly start leading to issues. But, I doubt you would leave your phone inside the truck charging like that.

cool thanks Free & Thermo. i was just curious b/c i know in the previous car that i owned (Saab 9-5 wagon) the charger only worked w/ the key was turned to the "ON" position. i didn't think it would be a biggie, i was just curious since i notice the charger light always stays on.

Ive left mine sitting in the yard without being cranked for 3 weeks and it fired up like a 2012 model.
