Catalytic Converter Temps

What is the healthy range for cat temps? I used my heat gun to test it out and here’s what I got. I tested precat and postcat, and waited til it got the normal operating temp. These are averages, and not 100% accurate.


Drivers Side
Precat- 450
Postcat- 370-390

Passenger Side
Precat- 430
Postcat- 425

They get Very Hot!!! Do not park on dry grass or anything that might burn quickly. They are known for starting fires unexpectedly.
