Check Fill Tube message (P0457 pending)

Got the fill tube message last Thursday and tried the wd40 and fuel fill funnel manipulation. Went in for rotator cuff surgery next day, so can't play with it a lot... Tried starting today and message still there. Did code reset, but still have message.
Anyone else have this and what was solution? I prob can't work on it for 6 weeks, but if it is something I can supervise, maybe have my son come over and try something.

you can't just reset, you have to wipe the pending code as well.

Also how much time did you spend doing the fuel fill funnel manipulation? and how much wd40 did you use? Did you use the OEM fuel filler? I have a thread on this issue and the wd40/fuel fill funnel fixed it.

I probably did it 30 times with a few squirts of wd40. OEM funnel. I did clear the codes, not the dash reset button. That was when I asked since the pending was still there. Drive it last night (couple miles) and didn't get the message on the screen that time. Will see if code is pending now when I get a chance. Thought it was weird when I cleared codes and the pending remained after coming back on, but maybe I needed to drive it first.

I'm not driving much with the shoulder surgery, but did about 50 miles yesterday and no reoccurrence of the message and not pending now. Seems the flap was the issue and we'll see how long it works.
