$14.99 a pair Lightfox pods, Amazon Prime
....+ about the same amount spent on 2x 5/16" drill bits that didnt much like "Built Ford Tough" frame rails (Irwin HSS, RIP, & offbrand Oreillys "Titanium", showing damage or defect), and same again on fuel driving around fetching that shit. Plan ahead get hardcore drill bits. BUY TWO.
+ hours wasted figuring how to mount it.
Solution: frame rail behind bumper. Drill 8mm or 5/16". Supplied bolt is M8 w/ 1.25 thread.
M8 1.25 thread wingnut useful on passenger side if you dont wanna take off the bumper, not enough space for a wrench imho... on driver side you CAN get a ratchet in though, helps to have the Bostitch twist-to-ratchet handle
Wiring? Easiest to splice into taillight (reverse light is the bulb behind the clear lens) and drop it thru the fender....greenish wire is hot, black and white is ground.

PS roughly 2/3 the light is coming off the pods...
+ slightly <1/6 from JDM Astar reverse light LEDs, but on a lifted Expy they just dont point in the right place really
+ slightly >1/6 from JDM Astar LEDs in license plate lights, those things are ridiculously bright and point DOWN, thats the dimmer but widest angle beam seen

That up there is 2x LED fogs (which I might be swapping out) and... ONE hid projector (as it turns out I accidentally disconnected the driver side headlamp), both out of whack at time picture was taken due to recent grille replacement without followup adjustment
Fixed it this morning but hey, too much sunlight to take proper output pics now

HAHAHA Thats what I am doing I ordered 2 sets off EBay for $31.00 shipped.
Its the camera, the bumper these things sit behind provides a pretty natural cutoff for em.
Plus, when youre backing up in a parking lot, for all 3-10 seconds of that exercise, it would actually be SUPER USEFUL if people would cease & decist moving in your direction
...that said, wiring it to a harness independent of the reverse function OR throwing a switch that closes the circuit or opens it up would be pretty darn easy

well the first point is right on considering the person posting.
I have no problem seeing people backing out. I have been driving for 40 years never hit anyone yet, but I might if I was night blinded by some stupid ass bright lights in my face and there was a child running out and I cannot see them since I have been blinded by said stupid ass lights

This is why reverse lights should be mounted low, under the bumper to light where the vehicle is going and not blind everyone in a 3 mile radius.

But isn't that exactly where he mounted them?
The pod IS under the bumper. The diode bulb in the taillight isnt THAT harsh, it just washes out the focus of a crappy cellphone cam when up close.
It's a non-projector that's weaker than most popular taillight bulbs on here

I wasn’t bashing you, I was stating a fact. I see they are mounted under the bumper. Mounting them low illuminates more of the ground and (in theory) when sitting in another vehicle the hood of that vehicle SHOULD block some of the light seen by the driver. High mounted reverse lights are the problem; like the people who mount them on the top of hatch.
Maybe I should have clarified that a little better.
