Im having a problem with my pass side child lock on my 97 Expy. If you unlock it and open the door when people get in and out a couple of time it will go back to the locked position. Anyone ever had this problem and/or know of a solution?

Drivers rear works perfectly.

Child Safety Locks

We have a 2000 & the child safety locks did the same thing while it was still under the initial warranty. I had it in for repair & was told there was no possible way the child safety lock could be moving up into the locked position & was I sure one of my kids wasn't doing it......well, a few yrs later - no longer under 3 yr warranty, it was in for a recall & I complained about the lock again. This time they agreed that there had been an issue - not a recall - and they did end up replacing it but I had to argue that I wasn't paying for the repair since it should have been fixed while under the 36 mos warranty.

Yeah i finally got around to spraying it with pb and it didnt fix the problem so i guess ill have to take the door panel off and take a look.

I dont mind it going back into the locked position since i have a six yr old but all my friends fight over what side they want to sit on because they dont like to wait for someone to let them out because they are usually forgotten! lol!

So i sprayed it with some brake clean today and moved the switch back and forth, waited for it to dry and hit it with some lube. got in the truck and opened and closed the door about 10 times and it stayed unlocked!

Thanks for your help Walnuts4x4, and KWT2000!
