So I threw a Check Engine code this morning& I'm really stressed out..

I put half a tank of Shell gas in this morning & I doubt that threw it.

For the past few weeks there has been a really strange Clicking noise going on. Not sure if it's a rock in the tire or something in the engine...

When I go back out I will get the codes.

I'll go outside now & take a picture where I think the clicking may be coming from.

How is it running? If it is running perfect minus the clicking then dont stress too much. Just get the codes and we can go from there

The acceleration has been horrible lately. Getting on the highway going from 40mph to 75mph takes quite a push.

Going up hills, even little ones, I get a good kick from the transmission. This is running between 1500 rpms & 2700 rpms.

Maybe Overdrive is On or Off? Would that even matter?

I have to go take my dog to the vets then I'll go run those codes.

in your picture look near the part you circled for the little rubber boot they can fall apart and leak and cause those codes... I'll look for Lane24s write-up on it for you

Lean condition could very easily be caused by a fuel rail or injector problem.

I would suggest checking to make sure you have good fuel pressure, then try to isolate the problem from there.

I'd hate to sound dumb or anything but I have no idea how to do that..

I would check what is in that link I post then go from there... very straight forward

I couldn't put my hand back behind the firewall to feel the valve because my engine is extremely hot. It gets really hot in there from short trips but the colant & fan work fine. I dunno what the deal is there.

How else should I go about feeling the valve?

usually they are dirty.. mine was so bad it had collapsed on itself and also had a hole in it.... but follow the hose from the PCV... on the right side of the throttle body there are 3 hoses that come off follow the middle one which goes to the PCV... while the truck is running **carefully** feel the elbow for air sucking... mine I could feel and hear the air... also have heard to spray the hoses with starting fluid and see if the engine revs higher... not too familiar on that approach but I usually just hold the hose and feel for air...
