Newbie to the forum...

i have been reading some threads on the clockspring issue. Just bought an 04 EBauer a few days ago. I have discovered that the CC, Stereo controls and Heater controls DO NOT work at all on the steering column. The horn works if pushed in the correct spot.

How easy is this to fix? Called O'reillys and they said the clockspring part is $60. How long does it generally take to install?

Looking at the manual, it seems a bit sketchy just because you have to remove the steering wheel, which in turn requires having the SRS (airbag) computer. I guess it's to prevent accidental deployment.

That aside, it seems to be taking the bottom and top cover off, seperating it from the multifunction switch, and taking it off.

I think someone here has taken off their steeing wheel before?

I think if you just disconnect the battery, you can remove the two 5/16 screws (take the two plugs out to reveal the hidden bolts) and pull the center of the steering wheel off and just replace the part.
