Hey Y'all. New to the Expy Forum. I was wondering if anyone has found a cowl or RAI hood for our second gen's? All i've been able to find are severely overpriced non functional RAI hoods from Sarona, and cheap plastic mock cowl scoops. I currently am running the stock hood on my 03 expy FX4 with a JLT Performance RAI (For now:gr_grin:) Plan on doing the Lightning SC swap after a full rebuild at some point, depending on whether or not the wife bites. And i refuse to buy those junk plastic scoops that are "moldable" to the stock hood. I'm looking for functional, not tacky peel and stick scoops you could find at walmart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, PAcountryBOY. Me too. Wish I can help, but ran into the same problem. While a forced air system is a distant dream for me, I can't see a cold air snorkel system like the 1rst gens use when our air cleaner is right on top almost like the old days where a hood scoop or cowl induction hood could dump right into the 4BBL carb. The second gen's 3 valve is just begging for a functioning NACA type hood and a rain baffle to put that cold air right down the air cleaner and throttle body, if you can just reposition the MAFS. Won't need all that snorkle and gott's mod stuff than. And I don't think the added velocity of that would be needed. Will somebody with more resources than me mold a glass hood with built in NACA duct and rain baffle?

VIS sells a hood for 2nd gen that has two open scoops though from what I've seen you'd need to fab a link to their openings to the intake. Hood looks really cool but i've read people having issues with fitment and quality.

I'd love to have that mustang setup with the scoop attached to hood and you could see it rev. Not having any engine modding exp other than small stuff I'd have to let someone else do the job for me.
